Audio editing is the process of taking recorded sound and changing it directly on the recording medium by optimizing the quality of the audio files using sound editing software. Video editing is the process of removing unwanted segments and connecting multiple clips into a single segment by optimizing the quality of digital video using video editing software. Currently many podcasts are known for their “scratchy” personalities and low quality production value. WiW® has top audio and video engineers whose sophisticated production techniques require a high level of technical skill, which ultimately separates our podcasts from other inferior productions.
WiW® will help our client’s develop their podcast by implementing sound and visual effects to enhance their podcasts. We have partnered with leading music communities to provide access to independent music that is RIAA compliant and safe for use in podcasting, we will acquire, edit, and develop all your audio and visual effects.
In order to achieve a quality podcast, mastering plays a crucial role in balancing the production. WiW® audio & video mastering varies depending on the specific needs of the material to be processed. We will sequence the recorded audio/video, and correct any problems with it, such as volume level, tonal balance, or undesirable artifacts. We will also utilize noise reduction to eliminate hum and hiss, normalize the tracks, and apply dynamic compression to specific frequencies that generate peaks.
Once the media is mastered in its original format, the media file must be compressed to a smaller file size in order to distribute it on the web. The process of compression is achieved by encoding the media from its original format to a format that is smaller in size. There are many forms of compression for audio and video, but for the purpose of podcasting, the adopted industry standard for compression is the mp3, mp4, and mpeg format, respectively.
